About Me

Hi I’m Sam!

My Art

I am an amateur craft hobbyist and enjoy making cute and nerdy things for myself and my friends and family. Recently, I have decided that my skill was sufficient enough to open up to the public to share and distribute my crafts that I enjoy making and love to give to others even more.

My longest practiced skill has been in pottery and ceramics, which I began in 2020. I have practiced both wheel throwing and hand building pieces and have made many custom pieces for people close to me. After taking several beginner and intermediate classes of pottery, I am confident that I can make fantastical and functional pieces that others will love too. Perhaps one day I can set up my own studio to do this year round.

I have also been making candles since 2021, originally as a way to give Christmas gifts to friends and family during COVID when finances were difficult, they turned out to be universally loved and requested again. Since then, I have slowly been building up the tools and materials to be able to make them better and more frequently. These too have also brought me a sense of pride.

Recently, I have begun to learn crochet on and off as of early 2023. Though I am not as well practiced in this skill as ceramics and candles, I hope that after some more time of practice I can add this to the expansion of my capabilities as an artist. I’m starting small with amigurumi plushies and scarves and hats, but I’m looking to expand out in the future!

And Me?

I’m 29 and live in the suburbs of Chicago with my beloved partner, Ren, and four cats. I have a full time job in accounting and enjoy doing these hobbies on the side of that. I’m also an unashamed nerd, and when I am not working you will likely find me playing video games, watching movies and tv shows, playing table-top games like D&D, and sometimes going to conventions and cosplaying!

I have amazing friends and a loving and supporting family who have helped me become the person that I am. But above all, I have my partner Ren to thank for pushing me to pursue my passions and make them the reality when I was scared to do it on my own. Ren is also an artist, and while my domain is in the 3D aspect, he makes some wonderful digital and copic art, and he takes commissions through his Tumblr when they’re open.

So there you have it, now you’ve met me! Hello!
